Glasurit 22 Line High-Solid Topcoat System
The main advantage of Glasurit 22 Line is unsurpassed coating durability and commercial efficiency of the painting process. When it comes to painting commercial vehicles, special-purpose transport, or classic solid-color cars, the classic “base + clear” method often increases the cost and time of repairs. The 22 Line solves this problem twice as fast, delivering a premium result in a single working pass.
The original German acrylic enamel Glasurit does not just shine — it creates a powerful armor-like layer that does not chip from small gravel impacts, is not afraid of aggressive alkaline touchless car washes, and fully protects the vehicle’s metal from corrosion. By choosing Glasurit 22 Line, you choose BASF’s benchmark reliability, proven by generations of professionals, and ensure your vehicle’s flawless appearance for many years.
Glasurit 22 Line High-Solid Topcoat System
Glasurit 22 Line High-Solid Topcoat System is a premium system of two-component acrylic automotive enamels with a high solids content (HS). It is a mixing system of liquid concentrated pigments (solids) that are mixed according to weight formulas to produce any non-metallic factory automotive shade.
The main technological difference of the 22 Line is direct mirror gloss (single-layer coating). Unlike the standard “base + clear” scheme, Glasurit 22 Line enamel is applied as a final decorative and protective layer simultaneously, requiring no subsequent clear coat application. This is an ideal solution for painting commercial vehicles, classic cars, vintage models, as well as interior body cavities and underhood areas.
Key advantages of the system:
High hardness and durability (High-Solid): Forms an extremely dense, monolithic polymer film. The coating offers increased resistance to chips, deep scratches, abrasion, and aggressive exposure to road chemicals.
Stunning deep gloss: The enamel provides a deep, rich “direct reflection” gloss that retains its original appearance for many years, requiring no regular polishing.
Excellent hiding power and economy: Due to the high concentration of BASF premium-grade pigments, the material completely covers contrast primer in just 1.5 coats. This radically reduces paint consumption and shortens the vehicle’s time in the booth.
Ideal flow and leveling: Possesses superior application properties and flow. The paint lays down softly, self-levels on the panel, and easily allows you to replicate the smooth factory structure (orange peel).
Absolute resistance to UV rays and fading: The pigment composition includes next-generation light stabilizers. The paint does not yellow, cloud, or lose color saturation even under direct scorching sunlight.
Precise color matching: The system is fully integrated into the Glasurit Refinity digital platform, allowing the colorist to accurately reproduce thousands of original solid colors (OEM) from the global automotive industry.
