Glasurit 522-111 HS – Flexible Additive (1L)

SKU: 50411470

The main advantage of Glasurit 522-111 — long-term stability and protection against customer complaints. Regular automotive clearcoat becomes hard and brittle as glass after full polymerization. If you use it to paint a soft plastic bumper without a plasticizer, even the slightest pressure (for example, when parking in snow) or vibration at high speed will cause the paint to become covered in a web of cracks and start peeling off in layers at the car wash.

Using the original German additive ensures that the polymer matrix of the clearcoat remains flexible throughout the entire service life of the vehicle. The bumper will retain its flawless appearance, factory gloss, and reliable protection against the aggressive effects of the environment.

Glasurit 522-111 HS – a premium‑grade, high‑concentration elasticizing additive (plasticizer) developed using High Solid (high solids content) technology. The product is designed to modify the physical and mechanical properties of two‑component Glasurit materials — clearcoats (923 series), topcoat acrylic enamels (22 Line), as well as primer‑surfacers and pore fillers.

The primary purpose of the 522‑111 additive is to impart high elasticity and resilience to the cured paint film. It is indispensable when painting or repairing parts made of plastic, polyurethane, and composite materials (bumpers, spoilers, wheel arch extensions, side sill trims) that are subject to natural deformation, vibration, and flexing during vehicle movement or under temperature fluctuations.

Key advantages:

• Maximum coating elasticity – Allows the paint film to flex together with the plastic substrate, preventing microcracks, spider webbing, and chipping.

• Enhanced resistance to sandblasting and stone chips – The modified clearcoat or primer gains a slight self‑healing and dampening effect. Impacts from small stones, gravel, and road debris do not chip the paint but are absorbed by the elasticity of the coating layer.

• High solids content (HS) – Adding the plasticizer does not reduce the dry film thickness or the filling ability of the materials, preserving their premium protective properties.

• Versatile application – Integrates into all key 2K products from Glasurit. One product covers needs at both the plastic priming stage and the final clearcoat or enamel application stage.

• Preservation of gloss and clarity – When mixing ratios are strictly observed, the additive is completely inert to the optical properties of the clearcoat – the finished coating retains a deep mirror‑like gloss and does not become cloudy or yellow over time.
